It is miserable to feel stuck. Stuck in the past, stuck in moving forward, stuck in depression or anxiety. We want to feel a sense of purpose so we can live fully in the present and have a vision for the future, no matter our circumstances. Several things can make us feel stuck, such as trauma, unresolved grief, shame, broken relationships, a fear of failure, and spiritual struggles. Sometimes, couples feel stuck working through complex issues, which results in anger and hurt. We all go through these times in our lives and may come to a point when we realize we need help moving forward.

I work in depth with individuals using a model called Internal Family Systems. This model helps us understand and transform the different parts of ourselves that seem to overwhelm and control us at times, freeing us to be led by our core Self. I am trained in EMDR, an evidence-based trauma therapy. I also provide spiritually integrated psychotherapy, grief therapy, and pre-marital and marital counseling.

I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space, validating your feelings and experiences as you learn new ways of being in the world. I respect and actively support who you are, no matter your faith, ethnic and cultural background, gender identity, or history. It's through facing and healing our wounds that we move from surviving to thriving.

With over 25 years of experience in pastoral psychotherapy, my qualifications include a B.A. from Davidson College, an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary. In addition, I finished the coursework and practicum in a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology program through the Fielding Graduate Institute before transferring to the D. Min. program.
